good morning peanut butter cups. i am smack in the middle of the most delightful girls' weekend. i figured i'd bring back saturday stats as inspired by alex, so here is my life by the numbers right now:
0 - slices of challah i have left. the good news for all of you is that i can now stop posting about it because i won't have any more to eat. if this previous weeks consumption of 3 slices/day is any indication, i think it's pretty clear i loved it. i suppose this number could also be 1 - loaves of challah i ate on my own this week.
(photo stolen from anne)
1 - number of times i've rapped kanye's "golddigger" aloud during a spin class in my life. on thursday night i went to a meetup for dc fitness bloggers (allegedly i consider myself one of these - or i did when i decided to jump onto this bandwagon when i saw anne tweet about it) at revolve, a cycle studio in clarendon. this spin class was a "body ride" style class, which included about a 35 minute spin session followed by an upper body workout on the bike (using little weights that were hanging on everyone's bike) before cooling down. i loved the class and would definitely love to take another class at revolve. francina taught a badass class and i am so glad i went. it is always fun to meet other bloggers from the area, and though i missed my a team, they were there in spirit when we kicked off the ride with thrift shop.
24 - ounces in the cup of coffee i plan on consuming this morning on my coffee date with alex and allison. it pains me to go more than a week without a coffee date with these girls and last week was basically one big jealous fest over in my hood because i couldn't hang out with them (and really i was super pissed i didn't get to witness alex walking into a fire hydrant - hoping for a repeat today).
125 - this is an approximation, but it's roughly the number of times i have driven past this view so far this school year. sometimes i forget how beautiful dc is and then i am struck by it when i drive right past the monuments. there are a lot of things i don't love about washington but it really is one of the most beautiful and cleanest cities i've ever been in.
4 - number of food items i stole from students this week. what can i say, just another of the unexpected perks of being a teacher.
4 - number of girls trying to sleep in one queen bed tonight. not really, we'll probably spread out, but jess, richard, lauren and i are having a slumber party while jess' husband is out of town and i couldn't be more excited. we're kicking off the evening with dinner and drinks at rio, our favorite mexican place (i'm right on track for my mexican once a week 2013 goal, in case anyone was wondering) and following it up with movies and girl talk then tomorrow we're going to get manicures and just be girly all day. should be glorious.
a million - number of times i now want to cook fish in parchment paper. this was so easy! i'm always so afraid of cooking fish but i looked up how to bake salmon in parchment paper and it really was as easy as it seemed. the fish was cooked perfectly and i felt like a fancy success when just and rebs were over for dinner wednesday night.
hope your weekends are half as enjoyable as mine is shaping up to be!
<3
I'm glad you have an awesome weekend in store, AND that you're connecting with DC Blends! And I would have finished that Challah bread in like 1 day...
ReplyDeletehaha your gluten intolerant self might not have been that happy but i promise your tastebuds would have been! i was so sad to see it go this morning :(
DeleteYour weekend sounds perfect. I literally almost dropped my computer laughing when I read the part about hoping you'd see Alex walk into a fire hydrant. Such a good friend ;) I would kill for a view like that on my way to school/work? every morning. Baltimore is definitely lacking in the scenic points. Have a great weekend. Hope you're ready to celebrate our birthdays RUNNING THE HALF TOGETHER IN TWO WEEKS!
ReplyDeletehaha i am a terrible friend, i mock other's pain...what can i say. i bake a lot of treats to make up for it :) can't wait for 3.16 for MANY reasons!
DeleteJust wait until you see how beautiful Ottawa is. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat being said, in just 13 days, I'll be seeing the glory that is DC for myself, and I can't wait. However, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't more excited about giving all of you a big hug and probably crying like a small child out of happiness for finally meeting everyone who has made such a huge impact on my life.
Definitely raised a cosmo to you last night. <3 (and then became extremely tipsy on said single cosmo ... life is sweet)
so glad - i'll be raising a margarita to you tonight, my beautiful twiglet :)
DeleteWoot woot! I <3 girls weekend that include coffee, drinks, girl talks, mexican food, movies, and nails! They're the best :) I'm psyched to run by all the monuments in two weeks...hope to be able to explore a little on Friday afternoon/evening, too :D Have a great weekend and give those coffee ladies a hug from me (you can give your friends one, too, but that might be weird since they don't know me)
ReplyDeleteI love meeting other teaching bloggers :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
ok sass monster be prepared for one ragey comment. just kidding but my body still hurts from the hydrant. I am too tired to sass. work is busy and I'm complaining. My life. In other words ALMAND BUTTTAAAA
ReplyDeleteGrown up slumber parties are still fun, even in your 20's! Have a great rest of your girls' weekend :).
ReplyDeleteoooh fun!! I know those people! I love creeping on your blog.
ReplyDeleteps. I braided my beer-bread this morning because I loved your challah pictures so much.
also I'm glad to hear you love DC because it's one of the few places-to-live that Joel and I can agree on, so we may end up there in a few years!
DeleteToday, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea
ReplyDeleteshell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She
placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a
hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
