i'm thankful for...my DVR. shoot, i love this piece of technology. i can't stand watching commercials anymore, i swear. between netflix, hulu and my dvr if i have to watch something live, i'm annoyed. every morning while i eat breakfast i typically watch an episode of good eats or chopped or some other food network delight. soon enough i can watch scandal and revenge because their winter breaks are FINALLY coming to an end. i am super pumped for the return of television.
i'm thankful for...my dad's generosity. even if notre dame didn't do as well as we had hoped (or, you know, well at all), i still am so thankful that i got the chance to go to florida and see the game, and it was all thanks to elvis. he's such a great dude and i'm incredibly lucky to have him in my life.
i'm thankful for...running buddies! because these two treats are training for the rock n' roll half with me and since they both live close by i've gotten the chance to go on lots more runs with friends lately and that makes me really happy. i am excited to go for a run with alex this weekend since we haven't run together in ages. everything is coming together in terms of me getting outside and getting my runs in and that is due mostly in part to having friends to run with. who knew that it would get a lot colder and i would get a lot better about running outside?
i'm thankful for...thumbholes! neon! thick running tights! i love cute workout tank tops as much as (maybe more) than the next girl, but there's nothing better than good cold weather running gear. in a pinch, i can run in the heat wearing a tshirt and shorts, but without solid winter apparel i would never do any runs outside. i think buying running gear and getting it as gifts is probably my favorite thing in the world and my collection of workout apparel at least triples that of my regular wardrobe. not sorry about it, just a fact.
what are you thankful for this week?
<3
Our conversation this morning!! And your smiling self in general :) Oh, and DVR.......cannot WAIT till Joe gets home...first thing we're getting...not even waiting to move haha! And I couldn't agree more with the winter apparel thing...I wear my stuff to hang out in too...I was most concerned about that stuff getting washed over my normal clothes last week when Joe did our laundry...and I'm not ashamed in the slightest ;)
ReplyDeleteThumboles hahaha I agree though. Having good workout clothing is totally something to be thankful for. I can't tell you how many running clothes I have worn in the last week. I go through at least three outfits a day (AM run, lounge time, PM zumba/yoga). It's kind of a problem... I haven't put on real clothes in like days. Too bad that all has to end today when I go to my internship for a half-day.
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful for my DVR. Seriously it makes the world a better place. And I think I need that neon running shirt. Give me. I am thankful for the fact that my mom wakes up before me and loves coffee..because that means I get coffee on demand the instant I wake up.
ReplyDeletethumbholes for the win. i mean for real. I am impressed with all your running outside when it is colder, running buddies sure are the best. I wish work weeks only lasted for three days. but at least we have inauguration day off... so that is a four day week to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteThumbholes....agreed. You gotta be thankful for the little stuff! Gratitude is such an important part of my life and I loved this post. Way to put your gratitude out there.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever find that boss that lets you work 3 days, tell her [yes her, I think more women would be in favor of 3-days than men] to hire me too :P I may have been whining about being bored at home for so long because of the holiday break + being sick but I miss it oh-so-much now... Have a blast running with Alex and I totally agree about thumbholes, it's hard to remember what we did before them?!
ReplyDeleteLove that neon running jacket!! I've been obsessed with neon colors lately and am in love with yours.
ReplyDeleteThat yellow jacket is amazing!!!! All my stuff is hot pink and purple right now, I have a bright yellow sports bra but have yet to get a running jacket that color... wish list.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for synthetic fabrics. My long run today would have been miserable without wicking socks, pants, tshirt, a vest with an impermeable back, and arm sleeves. Pretty sure that I would have been SOAKED otherwise. As it is, I only have a few muddy clothes items to toss in the washer.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you're enjoying your training!! :D Hope you had fun with Alex this morning!! (duh. Obviously you did!!)
