6 - miles i'm running with alex this morning. i'm a bit apprehensive about it. i say this every single time i run with alex (you know, the two times it's actually worked out that our schedules are open enough to make it happen) because i feel like my "long runs" have gone by the wayside and she's out there running badass runs like errday. i've run more than 5 miles only a handful of time since marathon training ended and though i'm totally fine with that, as i'm getting back into higher distances for half training, it has me a little nervous. why is it that i think when i don't run long for a few weeks i will lose all my abilities? does anyone else feel this way? pretty much as soon as i walk out of the weight room i'm also convinced my muscles start shrinking. yes i know this is dumb.
xxxx - amount of money i dropped yesterday on plane tickets. i don't even want to put that number out in the universe because it pains me so much but it was in fact four digits. tex and i are taking a trip to the west coast this summer for a wedding and we decided to tack on a visit to his best friend in seattle while we're there. let me just tell you - buying two people's tickets for a three-flight trip? not cheap at all. my wallet is hurting. in other news, i did get a crap ton of southwest points for buying the flights, so i have another free flight in my near(er) future now. silver lining!
5 - number of days i have to work next week. WHAT? this is unheard of. it's been almost a month since i had a full five day work week. spoiled? yes. devastated? totally. thank god for mlk weekend the weekend after so that i can get back to these four day work weeks.
3 - mornings i had eggs this week despite that i'm not sure i even wanted them. a lot of times when it comes to meals i'm indecisive - i want lots of things. for dinner that's not really a problem - i just decide whatever i want based on what i have in my fridge ever since i stopped meal planning quite as much. the problem is in the morning my brain isn't really working right away...i pretty much have my eggs fried up, my banana cut into slices and my toast toasted before i'm even awake. it's skillful, no doubt about that, but breakfast has been getting a little boring around these parts. maybe it's time for another shake up challenge with my favorite meal of the day.
3 (again) - blends i get to meet up with today! i'm running with alex and then we're meeting up with megan and allison for a lunch/coffee date. i am super pumped to see alex and allison again and i am so glad we managed to nail down megan before she heads back to school. so many meetups the next few months mean i'm a very happy blogger.
14 - items i bought from the old navy active line in an online spree. i have always been a huge fan of their active gear and i swear i binge bought all this stuff before every blogger in america started writing sponsored posts about them...not that there's a damn thing wrong with sponsored posts, but i want to retain my old navy street cred. i'm an original fan. love the stuff and for the price it's quality is super high which i remember thinking was surprising when i first started wearing it...you know WAY back in the day before all the cool kids were ;) so far my favorite are the racerback tanks i bought, but honestly i really love it all. holy shit i need to clean my mirror that is horrifying. sorry guys.
any meaningful numbers for you this week? i'm sure she's not staying totally up on blogs this weekend but i imagine that lindsay's number might be 39.3 since she's running the goofy challenge and that's how many miles she'll be covering today and sunday. wish her luck, but she's such a rockstar she won't need it.
<3
Ummm so about how we're like on the same wavelength here with the numbers game? How did we not know each other were doing it for today?! Must be fate ;)
ReplyDeleteI think those 6 miles will fly by. They never seem as long when you're running with someone else! And way to go. I agree on the ON front. I started buying workout clothes long ago. the only reason I went after all the sponsored posts popped up was because I didn't know they had a sale!
Oh, and you know I'm jealous of your saturday blend plans. But it's fine, I'll be crashing in a couple weeks ;)
I agree with you on the running thing! I have 6 miles planned in my head but I'm nervous I won't be able to do it. I haven't run more than 5 since late September. Eek!
ReplyDeleteoh please, you lost no ability. I think it is all about what you think you can do. you kicked butt this week on your workouts which makes me think in awe of what you do. I love your workout gear, I have never bought workout gear from them before. I am saving some of my sass in this comment for our run in countdown one hour
ReplyDeleteYou are going to rock today!! And then get to have a blast with the girls afterward :) I'm only slightly jealous of your trip west this summer, which sounds amazing, and I know you'll have a wonderful time! Have a wonderful day, darlin <3
ReplyDeleteDude [dudet?], I would totally run with you and Alex but you two would leave me in the dust! I'm planning to bang out 9 miles post-blunch :P And I hope you and Tex have a blast this summer on the west coast, can Ryan and I tag along if you come with us to the Caribbean?!
ReplyDeleteWorking 5 days a week is never fun, but just remember that your paycheck will totally thank you! And then you can buy more Old Navy active gear! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've seen Old Navy activewear alllllll over blogs lately but I totally believe you that you are an original fan. Which makes me want to check it out even more. I am the same way with breakfast - a lot of times I will be done eating before realizing I didn't even really feel like what I had. Whateva.
ReplyDeleteI was absolutely CONVINCED that the time I took off running would ruin my running mojo. Sure, I'm not where I was in the fall, but I'm getting back there quickly. Your muscles remember what it felt like to pound out those miles, you'll get back there pronto. :) Also, it isn't like you've been sitting around doing nothing. You've been lifting weights and still cardio training. No doubt in my mind that you'll be rocking it.
ReplyDeleteLove your numbers -- still jealous about those 3 blends you'll be meeting up with, but only 9 weeks til I'm able to join in :D Can't wait!!
I need to check out Old Navy's active wear asap! I bought some of their active wear back in August... so it's time to head back!
ReplyDeleteAs usual I can relate to a lot of this post! I too do the irrational worrying thing about losing the gains I've made at the gym so quickly. I know that missing an arm day won't matter in the big picture but dammit it's annoying to have to fight those irrational thoughts. I'm so jealous of your blend dates! Those are some awesome ladies. I also love that Old Navy top you got. I totally purchased my first stuff from their active wear over a year ago so I feel you on street cred. I love my capris from them, and I have a white top with green flowers too!
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone, I totally feel like I lose all running ability if I don't do it frequently. It's annoying because I logically know it's not true, but try telling my nervous system that as I'm gearing up for a long run. Yeah. She's not that interested in logics. Hope your run was excellent, though! :)
ReplyDeleteLate comment BUT I had to say that I'm in love with Old Navy's active line as well. Bomb dot com. I didn't realize it existed until May (? June? One or the other) and it's faaaaaantastic. If you ever happen to feel any post-shopping binge guilt, I just want to let you know that I always happily accept free clothes. Just doing what I can to help you ;)
